    The Festival of Trees is an annual event that has been held for the past 34 years. Each year there are new, unique trees to see. The Festival of Trees is held for over one week in the middle of November. There are multiple events during the festival like the Teddy Bear Tea, Craft Night, and Santa's Workshop. The Festival of Trees is held each year at the Gallagher Bluedorn Event Center.

    Jingle and Mingle on Main Street in Downtown Cedar Falls is a yearly tradition the first week of December.     I have recently attended two events at the Hidden Acres Event Center just south of Waverly and both events were beautiful. The wedding was held in one section of the building while their reception was in the other part of the building.     Recently, I just had a few minutes for lunch and thought I would run into Sub City on College Hill and grab a bite to eat. It is made fresh and delicious to my specifications. Terry, Rita, and Kyle were working behind the glass making my sandwich and they were happy, nice, and considerate towards me even tho they were really busy.     We visited Palmer's on Airline Highway recently and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities they provide. They have an 18-hole miniature golf course, batting cages, a golf range, go-carts, laser tag, a big jumping balloon, snacks, and beverages. There is something for everyone to do. Worth a trip to check it out.

    Many people have experienced the construction of the new round-a-bout on Greenhill and South Main. They are getting closer to completion and opening up the road completely. Soon traffic will be able to use all lanes of the street and continue south on Main Street. It is a great addition to the traffic flow as many people use this intersection to commute to work or to get to shopping areas.

    Get to Big Woods Lake and take a walk in the fall to see all of the great colors of the trees and foliage. When the sun is shining it is so pretty to see the reflection of the leaves on the lake as you walk. As you are out on the trail, you may get to see the squirrels preparing for fall by burying nuts or a friendly beaver working on their hut. It's neat to see.
