As a child, Heather moved around a lot due to the nature of her father’s job. Eventually, Heather attended Iowa State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Children and Family Studies. She enjoyed Ames so much she never left, working with abuse shelters, teenage treatment homes, and as a counselor to children of all ages. Heather also spent a great deal of her time raising her twin boys and the two following children, while also running a licensed in- home daycare for about 10 years. After her kids became more self- sufficient Heather worked as an assistant and substitute teacher for a while until her early experience of moving a lot, and familiarization with the home buying and selling process, inspired her to pursue a career in real estate. Now many years later, she is still helping people and doing what she loves. She also has a super cool husband she gets to work alongside every day, and enjoy their 8 kids. Their
lives are full of sparkle and never dull, just how they like it!

    Heather is an outstanding realtor who possesses in-depth knowledge about housing markets and financing provisions, and is a wonderful human being. She is highly personable and genuinely cares about her clients. As we were preparing to buy a home, she engaged as if she were purchasing a home for herself. She responded to all our questions and concerns with great care, promptness, and professionalism. Heather is highly trustworthy and very friendly. My family and I are fortunate to have a realtor like Heather who genuinely cares about us. We are also grateful to Scott Schmitz, her husband, who has graciously fixed maintenance issues at our home. Scott, too, is a great realtor with excellent skills, e.g., plumbing, carpentry, etc. Scott and Heather are both wonderful people to work with. Highly recommended!

    I truly, from the bottom of my heart, have nothing but respect and positive things to say for Heather and Scott! They made this process incredibly palatable and were there to help us as people, not figures on a page. They are there to look out for our best interest, and made our home buying process easier than I could've imagined! They went out of their way to work with our schedules, checked on us while in the waiting period, and have reached out after to touch base and see some updates. We had a little scare with our plumbing, and Scott went out of his way to make some phone calls and calm us down a bit, as we are first time homebuyers and everything is scary. As someone with anxiety, Scott and Heather were a godsend in this process. We will recommend them to everyone we come across looking to buy their home.

    Scott and Heather are always outstanding. This is the second home I have purchased with them and they always go above and beyond to make sure everything runs so smoothly and without fault.     They were both very helpful in getting the house ready to sell, pointing out areas where I needed to upgrade and areas where I didn’t. It made my preparation much easier and made the house more sellable. They were very easy to work with and were available to answer any questions I had.

    Heather was extremely helpful in the purchase of my home. I didn't even expect to be able to get a viewing of my house let alone get it purchased. I am so very thankful for all of the work and knowledge Heather brought to the table.
