    My husband and I bought our first house in Westwood Heights. This area has always been dear to my heart. Now that we have moved out of the area and built a home in west Omaha, I truly miss the convenience of shopping. Many nights we would walk through the neighborhood past the 9 hole golf course, and over to the grocery store. There are two elementary schools in the area, one is the Millard School District (Cody Elementary) and the other is Omaha Public Schools (Oak Valley). Most of the homes in the neighborhood are within walking distance of the elementary schools. On the northern edge of the subdivision is a common area and walking trail that will take you right to Cody Elementary without crossing any streets. Many of the people in the area have lived in Westwood most of their lives. We had planned to stay in our first home in Westwood for five years and ended up staying 15! Many people who grew up in the neighborhood come back and purchase their homes.
