Lake WaConDa, located approximately 25 miles South of Omaha and 40 miles East of Lincoln, is a 90 acre lake designed for recreation. With both full time residents and weekend residents, the community has a small town feel with an emphasis on social activities for families, kids and adults.
Having had a weekend home in Lake WaConDa for about five years, I found the friendly neighbors and small town atmosphere very welcoming. Just driving through the gates on Friday evenings set the tone for a relaxing, enjoyable weekend. You're sure to drive past several golf carts making their way around the lake, some bicyclists as well as people out for a stroll.
There is a community center where most of the events occur. It can be rented out for private events for a small fee. This is also where the local volunteer fire department holds its pancake feeds each holiday in the summer where you'll enjoy a great breakfast with lots of friends and neighbors.
With skiing, fishing, swimming, tubing and jet skiing allowed on the lake, there is always something happening in the summer. Winter is more quiet at the lake, but incredibly beautiful and peaceful!
