The Church Row Neighborhood, named for the cluster of churches in the 600 block of West Fourth Street and surrounding area, has one of the oldest neighborhood associations in Waterloo. The grandeur of the buildings themselves leaves many people in awe at the beauty of these structures. In the past 20 years or so this stately neighborhood has been on the decline. Some blame landlords that do not upkeep the property, but regardless, their neighborhood association has recently begun efforts to improve the area. They do this by purchasing a run-down home and with the help of many volunteer hours, restore the structure to its original glory.
