The new Liberty High School in North Liberty is nearing completion for a phased opening in the Fall of 2017. Seven hundred students will start this year and within two years the school will be at it's full capacity of 1,500. The bulk of the new students will be transfers from West High School. Forty four West High teachers are making the move with their students as staff is reduced at West High to accommodate the new staff at Liberty High School. The school is state of the art with great natural lighting, high ceilings and plenty of room to grow!

The Iowa City Community School District (ICCSD) continues to be one of the finest examples in the country and the state. Elementary through high school, ICCSD and it's individual schools continue to stack up the awards.
