    The Iowa River Landing Area has been growing by leaps and bounds over the last few years. There is so much development happening: commercial, retail shops/restaurants, housing, rentals and ownership, and don't forget the Xtreme Arena opening in the Fall of 2020. The opening of this arena will bring sporting events, concerts, and much more! We have watched the development happen right in front of our eyes.

    If you are coming to the area be sure to check out the coffee shops, Scratch Cupcakes, retail shops, and restaurants to name a few. There is plenty of parking, and you can even stay at the Marriott Hotel. This area houses the Fry Fest each September, Winterfest in January, and other events throughout the year. This is an area you won't want to miss!

    IRL Construction Update
    The upside of the development of the Iowa River Landing is that it has added many great restaurants, stores and fantastic new condos that put you right in the heart of the action.

    The downside of it, and I'm speaking from experience here as our office is in the IRL, is that the ongoing large scale construction has made for a few headaches. Tied to the widening and improvement of the final stretch of First Avenue, most folks in the area are feeling the construction pain.

    In the end, however, it will all be worth it!! The Iowa Arena, new hotels restaurants, green space, trails and expanded retail space will cement the IRL as the gateway to the Iowa City area!

    The expansion and improvement of First Ave. is the linchpin for making the IRL expansion work! See the attached video.

    Additions to Iowa River Landing Coming Soon
    The IRL, Iowa River Landing Area, in Coralville has been undergoing a transformation in the last few years with the businesses and housing that it offers and is continuing on into the future. The change to this area will bring more entertainment venues to the public and benefit the local businesses, restaurants and shops. The Coralville Transit Intermodal Facility also opened in August of 2015.

    Opening in 2017 will be Trader Joe's Grocery Store and Fuzzy's Tacos. In the last year we have seen many retail stores, coffee shop/bakeries, restaurants, housing and it is continuing to grow! With the University of Iowa Health Care at IRL, The Marriott, and stores like Von Maur; the area is bringing more and more foot traffic. The area offers many eateries/bar atmosphere such as: 30 Hop Restaurant, Backpocket Brewery, Vesta, Edge Water Grille and Konomi.

    The Future Is Now
    The Iowa River Landing (IRL) has been a long time developing. The long hard work by the city of Coralville is now paying off in one of the most popular work/live/play neighborhoods in the area!

    Work: The IRL includes thousands of square feet of retail and office space that is filling up fast. The University of Iowa's new Family Care Center is the hub of employment in the IRL and those working at and visiting the Family Care Center find the retail shopping areas very convenient.

    Live: The IRL includes several luxury condo developments currently available and under construction with more planned for the future. The new Coralville Transit Intermodal Facility allows easy access to all points in the Iowa City/Coralville area and includes electric car charging stations and great park and ride options.

    Play: Almost too many options to go into! Fantastic restaurants like Vesta and 30 Hop and Konomi. The Backpocket Brewery, Scratch Cupcakery, WineStyles Wine bar, The Marriott Convention Center, The IRL Wetlands Park and Sculpture Walk......The list goes on and on.

    But wait, there's more! Plans are in the works for a 7,000 seat multi use arena for concerts, conventions and concerts!
